NOW WHAT?
This is often a question that many ask. In a previous chapter of my life, I could have told you what I was anticipating five years from now, maybe even ten. However, recent changes in my life: work commitments, school commitments, running Haute Tulip, and realizing that I needed to strengthen my walk with God caused me to sit still.
Stillness does not mean you have to be in confusion; it does not mean you are not growing. It is time to reflect on who you are and what God called you to be. When I first started becoming an “influencer,” the process was overwhelming. I was a full-time master’s student that supported herself by working a full-time third-shift job. My priorities were everywhere, and my lack of focus led me to a place where I did not know where I wanted to be, let alone have an understanding of where I needed to be. Ultimately, I put a pause on it ALL, I was not sure what I needed to do, but I knew what I was doing was not what God intended.
I had to learn that having and starting a plan was great. However, the ability to pivot, still listen, and learn discernment would be priceless in the coming seasons. So now, as a Ph.D. Student, I am still learning and growing. I am by no means perfect, but because of grace and mercy, God has allowed me to continue on the path. I am re-entering the world of social media, and some may say influencing while placing the focus on growing my relationship with God. If you have found this to be the exact place you are in or a similar position I have some tips.
Here are some ways that you can begin to take more steps on your journey:
- Make a list of things you want to accomplish.
- Have an honest conversation about what you can handle this season.
- Ask yourself how can you pivot if you get, of course, do you need an accountability partner?
- Make a playlist (my favorite) or notes (second favorite) that can remind you why you are on this journey.
Tell us in the comments if you too have felt like that and what are some methods one can do to help them with their journey.
